COMMUNITY PANTRIES
This pantry is a form of mutual aid and is community sustaining, that means we need you to help keep it running. It is an opportunity to allow each other to contribute to the common good by combating food scarcity. It is not charity. We believe everyone should have access to food and kindness.
“Take what you need. Share what you can.”
We are excited for this community to grow and prosper.
HOW CAN I HELP?
Give what you can, when you can: Anything you have to give is appreciated, whether that is food, time, or labor.
Stock a pantry: Even giving one or two items is super helpful!
Clean a pantry: Check for expired items, organize items, wipe down shelves and handles, check for trash.
Share a pantry update: Snap a picture of the inside of a pantry to update others on what’s needed/available.
Snap a picture: Stop by a pantry and take photos and send them to us on social media, that way we can update followers about what is available and what needs stocked.

WHEN STOCKING,
try to think about what you would want to eat when you’re hungry. (After all, these community pantries are an extension of our own pantries.) Consider a variety of food types, such as snacks for all age groups, ready to eat meals, items that do not need to be cooked (if someone does not have access to a microwave or stove), in addition to specific ingredients that are needed to cook something. Feel free to donate specialty items as well, or anything that brings you joy to eat.
PANTRY ETIQUETTE:
Do not donate anything that you would not personally consume.
Anything can be given as long as it is non-perishable, has not been opened, and is not expired.
If you notice or cause a spill, please clean up after yourself whenever possible.
Check expiration dates on food products. Discard out-of-date food.
If you notice packaging has been compromised, please discard.
If you notice that the pantry needs cleaning or maintenance, get in touch with us
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
Visit any pantry at any time.
If it’s in the pantry, it’s free and it’s for anyone.
The pantry belongs to the community. Ask folks outside of your circle what they want and need — be open to ideas.
Continue learning about solidarity and mutual aid. Reaffirming your knowledge in these subjects will allow you to continue to trust your community.
Have fun with it. Make sure your actions are done with love and solidarity.
